Join artist Mariana del Castillo to create poetic relief sculptures with tin and fabric that are inspired by the macro, quiet and regenerated natural world, visually exploring the anthropomorphic transformation of arthropods. Fantastical tin components will be hand cut and embossed with a collage of fabric, hand stitching over oyster shell and refined with illustration.

Mariana del Castillo lives and works in Ngambri and Ngunnawal land. Mariana is an Ecuadorian-born, Australian multidisciplinary artist. In 2022 she was awarded a CAPO Fellowship. She has had several solo exhibitions and participated in many group exhibitions. Including 2023 Shoalhaven Regional Gallery, New England Regional Museum, invited to create site specific installations: 2022 Shift: CMAG Gallery 4 Design Canberra Festival, Re - locate, Assembly point, Southbank Melbourne and Canberra's Art Biennial: Contour 556: 2016-18,20,22, Her works are held in public and private collections in Australia and overseas. Mariana is currently a visual arts mentor for the University of Canberra ADF Arts for Recovery program.
