Exhibition | The Architectural Ghosts of Canberra | University of Canberra Faculty of Arts and Design

  • Australian Institute of Architects 2 Mugga Way Red Hill, ACT, 2603 Australia (map)

This exhibition brings to life the ghosts of Canberra’s 20th-century architectural legacy. From extensive archival research, and through analogue and digital methods, it showcases original work that integrates photography, drawings, models, and projection, overlaying the past and present.
These ghosts continue to haunt us, but perhaps they can also serve as a kind of educational augury. By showcasing Canberra’s lost architectural heritage, this exhibition also raises awareness around other exemplary projects with current uncertain futures. Is it possible to regenerate these projects through adaptive reuse, rather than demolition? This exhibition hopes to foreground the social, cultural, historical, and environmental benefits of an adaptive reuse approach.

Opening Hours | Monday to Friday 9am – 5pm

Entry to this exhibition is free | No bookings required
