Designcraft’s cabinet makers have regenerated factory offcuts into new and unique designs for Consolidate by combining separate parts into one uniting them and causing them to become stronger and whole. The makers have made items out of offcuts from past projects, bits and bobs laying around, that would otherwise be unused parts.
Designcraft celebrated 30 years in business this year, and we are pleased to have such highly skilled cabinet makers in Canberra, and we are pleased to share their craftmanship with this exhibition during the month of November.

Steve joined Designcraft in 1997 and is now an integral part of the Designcraft joinery team, with his extensive experience, leading and mentoring the team he has worked on major projects for Designcraft.
He originally made some small storage boxes for his father, about 30 years ago. In mid-2023 in a designcraft factory tidy up, Steve noticed there were small offcuts from past projects, bits and bobs laying around that hadn’t been used and was inspired to make something out of these otherwise un-used parts. Due to the small size of the offcuts and parts, whatever he designed and made needed to be small. He then recalled the small storage units he made 30 years ago, and took on the design challenge to make new pieces, even better than before, with his 30+ years cabinetmaking experience. He certainly achieved that goal. Making more six more custom pieces, each better than the one before. Small handmade treasures to hold small treasures.
